Mumbai bassist-producer Nathan Thomas aka NATE08 has been involved in the Indian independent music scene since he was in school. NATE08’s proficiency on bass has led to him working with eminent artists as a session musician such as multi-instrumentalist Sidd Coutto, blues rockers Blackstratblues, electronic artists Sandunes and Kumail, singer-songwriters Kayan and Nikhil D’Souza, musician Tajdar Junaid, singer-composer Amit Trivedi, rapper Raja Kumari as well as drummer Dhir Mody (on a duo project called Drum ani Bass).

After releasing a number of singles and EPs of his own, NATE08 released his debut full-length album Furaha in 2022, via U.K. label Needwant, which also includes remixes by British household names such as Charles Webster and Jesse Bru. At 2022’s Magnetic Fields Festival, the musician debuted his live show as NATE08. He also performed DJ sets as part of Lollapalooza India’s pre and after-parties in 2023.

NATE08 has even contributed bass parts to Assam-bred artist Jitwam’s 2022 critically acclaimed album Third and even produced and composed the title track for the romantic comedy series Modern Love Mumbai called “Mausam Hai Pyaar” alongside Nikhil D’Souza. He’s also worked as a music director and composer for an episode on the Netflix series Purple Duniya.
