Producer | Electronic Artist | Sessions' Bassist
Harshit Misra (aka Hashbass), a musician & producer originating from New Delhi, is inarguably one of India’s best bassists currently. Endorsed by some of the best names in the music business such as Fender, D’addario & Akai, he is a popular name in the Indian independent music industry. He has many a feather in his hat - including the 2014 Outstanding Bass Student Award and 2 prestigious scholarships at Musicians’ Institute, LA which he later joined as a faculty member. Harshit is also one of the two Indian producers in the music industry aficionado Timbaland’s premier global marketplace for music creatives – Beatclub.
His influences range from Yellowjackets & J Dilla to the sounds of Gospel & Indian Carnatic music. Harshit is known for his remarkable contribution to India’s hip-hop, pop, funk jazz & Latin jazz culture. His understanding of rhythm is evident in the catchy grooves his mind invents - appreciated by many. A lesser-known fact about Harshit, an ability we call his superpower, is his chromesthesia - the experience of sound involuntarily evoking an experience of colour, shape, and movement!
Humble at heart, hardworking and an absolute riot to work with - Harshit is on every artist’s “must collaborate with” list. He started as a pianist fate had further plans for him. His growing knowledge & experience over the years has helped him become a musical powerhouse with incredible resilience.
